Expert physiotherapists to help you get back to good health

All our physiotherapists are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapist (MCSP) and Health Professionals Council (HPC). As experts in their fields they also lecture for the undergraduate and master’s level physiotherapy courses at King’s College London.

Paul Deane

BSc MCSP

Paul is a specialist MSK physiotherapist who after qualifying from Sheffield Hallam University with a first-class honours degree, has worked in a variety of different clinical areas within the NHS before specialising in neuro-musculoskeletal injuries.

Paul is devoted to maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice through continuous professional development, having completed a MSc module in neuromuscular triage, published a case report on sickle cell anaemia and avascular necrosis, whilst also guest lecturing at King’s College London on both the BSc and MSc physiotherapy courses.

Paul has a passion for helping clients return to sport, having a particular interest in the rehabilitation of lower limb injuries. He has worked in a variety of national and international elite sport settings, including football, rugby and as part of the British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) medical team at elite level university sporting competitions.

Specialist interests: Lower Limb injuries; return to sport rehabilitation.

Adam Fox

BSc MCSP AACP

Adam is a highly specialised MSK physiotherapist who graduated from the University of Nottingham with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy in 2014. He has worked at multiple large NHS Teaching Hospital Trusts (including both MSK and Rheumatology departments) and private practice.

Adam is passionate about personalised care and empowering people to return to doing the things that they love doing. He values education about a diagnosis and understands that a rehabilitation plan needs to be tailored to the individual in front of him.

Specialist interests: Lower limb rehabilitation; running injuries; rheumatology.

Rachel Simmons

BSc MClinRes. MCSP

Rachel is an established member of our private physiotherapy service with 15 years’ clinical experience treating a range of complex neuro-musculoskeletal problems both in the NHS and in private practice. Rachel is experienced in offering both traditional face-face care, and also remote telehealth.

Rachel has specialist knowledge and is passionate about working holistically with musicians and those in the performing arts to facilitate a speedy recovery and return to performance. She has worked with musicians at the Royal Academy of Music, and with dancers, circus performers, and elite athletes within the Institute for Sport and Exercise Health. She

Rachel has a special interest in managing long-term conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and hypermobility.

Specialist interests: Occupational health including performing arts; rheumatological disorders; hypermobility; trauma and orthopaedics.

Serena Johnston 

BSc MCSP  

Serena is a highly specialised MSK physiotherapist who graduated from Northumbria University in 2016. She has had experience in various NHS Trusts as well as private practice. 

Serena sees a large variety of patients and also runs the Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) clinic. She is dedicated to maintaining her continuous professional development, having completed a post-graduate qualification in Neuromusculoskeletal Triage which has further developed her assessment skills. This, combined with her extensive clinical experience, enables her to be able to give a thorough assessment.  

Serena enjoys sports of all kinds, from netball to hockey, tennis and more recently road cycling. She has also worked at the London marathon supporting endurance athletes. Serena uses and applies her understanding of sports, combined with her physiotherapy knowledge, to help you achieve your goal.

Hannah Atkinson

BSc MCSP AACP

Hannah is currently on maternity leave and not accepting patients.

Hannah is a highly specialised MSK physiotherapist with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy from Cardiff University, and has worked in various NHS Trusts as well as private practices. She has experience working with high level athletes and competitors including the Wales Men’s Hockey Team.

Hannah has specific manual therapy skills, as well as being trained in acupuncture and Pilates, and uses these techniques and treatment approaches, along with individualised exercise programmes, to help clients achieve their specific goals and enhance their recovery.

Specialist interests: Lower limb disorders; tendinopathies; pilates; hydrotherapy.
