We realise that the difficulties associated with trying to conceive can be stressful. That’s why we believe counselling is an integral part of treatment and therefore encourage all couples at any stage of treatment to see a counsellor.

Counselling gives support from a trained professional who understands what is involved in your treatment and offers you the time to talk over your options or concerns. Most people find that having someone to discuss this with makes all the difference between feeling stressed and worried, to feeling more able to cope.

Many couples experience sexual difficulties from time to time. Some couples find the pressure of not becoming pregnant each month or the ‘invasion’ caused by infertility investigations and treatment creates temporary sexual problems. One of our counsellors specialises in psychosexual counselling and several of our doctors have also been trained in this area. It is a common aspect of what they do, so please do not feel embarrassed about asking for help.
