Miss Gabriella Gray, MBBS, PhD, MRCOG Consultant Obstetrician
Gabriella Gray has worked at St Thomas Hospital since 2003 where she is a consultant in obstetrics (pregnancy and childbirth) and lead for labour ward.
Initially she qualified in internal medicine and haematology, abroad. She then trained in obstetrics and gynaecology, at Guy’s and St Thomas’ and University College Hospitals, receiving additional, highly specialised training in maternal medicine. This means she is able to support pregnancies of mothers affected by a variety of medical conditions such as asthma, hypertension, thyroid and blood disorders.
A mother herself, she understands both the excitement and the anxieties of pregnancy and childbirth. Her ethos is to support prospective mothers and fathers by both nurturing normality and expertly dealing with complexity. She has excellent working relationships and support from midwives, gynaecologists, anaesthetists, fetal medicine experts, physicians and surgeons.
She is actively involved in teaching and has co-authored papers in highly respected journals, the most recent publications were an invited review in “Best Practice In obstetrics and Gynaecology” and a book chapter in “Challenging concepts in obstetrics and gynaecology”. She is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and of the British Maternal Fetal Medicine Society.
Due to increased family commitments, Miss Gray is currently on a career break from private practice (still works full time in the NHS). She will be returning to the Westminster Maternity Suite in April 2018.
